Tips for Writing an FAQ Page for Your Farm Website
A great way to enhance the user experience on your farm’s website is to have an FAQ page to get ahead of questions that may come up. Spending a little time on this page now will save you a lot of time and energy fielding customer inquiries in the future.
The SEO benefits of having a robust FAQ page
Not only are FAQs great for enhancing your website visitor experience and saving you time, but they are also a great way to improve your farm’s SEO (search engine optimization) — the level of visibility your website has in Google and other search engines. You can use FAQs as a way to include keywords that potential customers might search for which are relevant to what you do, as well as some that are related but may not be 100% applicable. For example: “Is your farm organic?” may help you show up for people searching for organic farms, even if your answer to the question is that your farm is not certified organic but you do use organic practices. The question gives you a chance to talk about your practices and potentially reassure the reader about why you choose to farm the way you do.
Where to begin
To get started, think about the questions you get asked the most. Go through your emails, messages, and inquiry forms to compile a list of questions, and you will likely find that you’ve already shared the answers! You’ll want to focus on answering questions that give your customers the information they need to feel confident in their choice to shop with you.
Once you have gathered all of your questions and answers, it is important to present them in a way that is organized and easy to find. If you have a lot of FAQs, consider adding subheadings with anchor links (a special URL that takes you to a specific place on a page) to organize them. Common subheadings (depending on your offerings) are: products, practices and protocols, shipping and delivery, pickup, bulk orders, wholesale orders, CSA, subscriptions, and bundles.
Below are some ideas and suggestions for common farm FAQs we see to help you get started. A lot of this information will likely live elsewhere on your farm website, but it is still good to give customers the high level recaps here. We suggest adding links, where applicable, in your responses to direct folks to find more in depth information on any given subject.

We have styled the FAQ examples below as accordions (also commonly referred to as dropdowns)! You can also use bullets to list out your FAQs.
