Website for Workin’ Roots Farm

We recently worked with Candius Elliot, the Founder & Director of Workin’ Roots Farm in Detroit, MI, to design a Square website to replace the farm’s previous GoDaddy website.

The fully customized Square website provides visitors with more information about the farm’s mission and practices, enables online shopping, features a volunteer inquiry section, and highlights farm updates.

The new farm website also features:

✔️ Custom Design: We were requested to create a space that felt warm and healing, so we designed an approachable website focusing on the farm’s mission, their neighborhood, and the ways in which they are helping their community.

✔️ E-commerce: Square makes ordering online easier than ever by allowing customers to shop for farm merch, including farm t-shirts and cups, directly on their website. We also configured everything so that the farm can sell fresh, local farm produce for pick-up during the growing season.

✔️ Farm News & Events: Visitors can now easily stay up-to-date on farm news and upcoming farm events all in one convenient space.

✔️ Streamlined Visitor Experience: The friendly, informative messaging, warm, natural tones, and farm testimonials on the new homepage ensure that visitors know exactly what type of farm Workin’ Roots is and creates a space they’ll want to visit again and again.

Before the official launch of the website, we also provided Candius with a live training call to ensure that everything continues running smoothly for years to come.

Workin’ Roots Farm is an urban farm focusing on food sovereignty, sustainability, and herbalism in the Nolan Neighborhood of Detroit, MI and beyond.

This work is part of our pro bono program. Know anyone who might be a fit? Spread the word!

“The website looks great! You guys got to everything that I wanted to encompass. I love it. You guys are awesome. I am very happy with it. I have saved the training call for future reference. I’m not super tech-savvy, so it works for me and I feel like I can do the things I need to do with how you guys got it set up. You guys have been super great at explaining everything and putting it all in layman’s terms. You all did an amazing job!!!”
