Tell us about one of your favorite farm projects

“I have so many favorite farm projects! My favorite farm projects are really following a family throughout their year farming or ranching and taking pictures during planting/harvesting/etc. and making them coffee table books to keep in their family for generations. One of my favorite single shoots was Mitchell Farm.”

Why do you work with farmers?

“My background is in agriculture. I have an associate's degree in Environmental Science, a Bachelor's in Animal Science with a minor in Crop Science, and a master's in ruminant nutrition/physiology. Farmers and ranchers provide us with food and fiber and so many other products. They work extremely hard to do what they do and I love to showcase that for others and take care of the photography and marketing for them, so they can do the job that they love and are best at. Also, my favorite possessions are pictures of my grandparents farming through the years. It doesn't seem like much at the time, but they truly are keepsakes for throughout the ages.”

What’s in your kit?

“I typically bring my two cameras, multiple lenses, lens hood, cleaner kit, back up SD cards, external flash and batteries, chargers, step stool, reflectors, props to go with the shoot, bells to get children's attention depending on what kind of shoot.”

What’s your lighting setup?

“I mostly work with natural light, but I do have external flashes and light reflectors.”

Is your business insured?

“No.”
